Color is the signature of Cezar Secrieru, he considers that “constructive role of the color’s essence transforms the world, reconstructs it and reveals a new reality that carries deep poetic meanings. Colors’ semantics, their harmony and theatricality give significance to the pictorial imagery.”

Many of the painting motifs come from imagination of the painter, others are based on poetry, philosophy or music, as the musical culture, both contemporary and medieval has always inspired him. As the artist says, “The painting is una cosa mentale, but it is always an emotion as well; the osmosis of this complex state produces unique creations. That is why I could never make a copy, even of my own works.” Owing to this intercultural involvement, the artist is constantly invited to illustrate books, journals, artistic products, etc. in his country and abroad.

The painter very often starts his work with a figurative sign that will transfigure into abstract forms in the course of artwork creation. The artist is deeply convinced that “art is the passion, which helps us to live and survive, which motivates us to give meaning to the horizontality of the quotidian and to the verticality of the eternal.”
